The Tompkins County Community Beautification Program traditionally provides grants to municipalities in Tompkins County outside of the City of Ithaca. Beautification grants are funded by the Tompkins County Tourism Program, and can be used for landscaping, tree planting, benches, banners, or possibly other projects. All municipalities in Tompkins County are eligible to apply. Projects eligible for rural grant funds must be approved by the Community Beautification Program. Applicants are strongly encouraged to contact the Beautification Coordinator prior to beginning your project. The project should be in an area that is highly visible to the public and on public land: along a main road or near a public building such as a town hall, post office, or school. For additional grant guidelines and to find out more about the application process, please contact Janine Willis at [email protected]. Applications are due by March 1st and recipients will be notified by April 1st of each year. Final reports for grant recipients will be due on October 31st of each year.
